The 2024 Outstanding Administrative Service Awards were presented to five SUNY Fredonia employees whose collective service spans over 90 years.

The recipients represent all major departments within the Finance and Administration division, and the awards highlight exemplary service that employees give to the campus.

President Stephen H. Kolison Jr. said, “Congratulations to those who have been selected for this award. It is always a tremendous honor to be recognized by your peers for the great contributions that you make to this institution.”

Criteria for the award, now in its 22nd year, include outstanding Fredonia service attitude; creativity and resourcefulness in improving services; demonstrated team effort in everyday actions and positive attitude in dealing with students, faculty and staff. 

Award recipients include:

  • Roberta Loomis from the Faculty Student Association (FSA) Operational Services, who is a Cook in Cranston Marche. She began her career at FSA in September 1999. Ms. Loomis is a resident of Dunkirk.
  • Katie Bixby from Administrative Support, who was an Administrative Assistant in the University Police Department. She began her career at Fredonia in August 2009 and recently retired. Ms. Bixby is a resident of Fredonia.
  • Daniel Halas from Professional Trades, who is a Plant Utilities Engineer 1. He began his career at Fredonia in November 2000. Mr. Halas is a resident of Fredonia.
  • Gretchen Fronczak, who is a member of the Professional Staff and Capital Project Assistant in Facilities Planning. She began her career at Fredonia in February 2009. Ms. Fronczak is a resident of Silver Creek.
  • Jeffrey Deering from Custodial Services and a Janitor, who began his career at Fredonia in June 2011. Mr. Deering is a resident of Cassadaga.
