Grace Alexander (23) in action.
First-year student Grace Alexander capped her sensational freshman season by being named the SUNYAC Rookie of the Year as well as Third Team All Conference.
The first-year player from Penfield High School averaged a team-high 13.8 points per game, and led the Blue Devils with 44 three pointers and 38 steals. The Devils finished the season with a 12-13 mark.
Her three-point total ranked fifth in the conference, and she was seventh in scoring.
Alexander is the second Blue Devil to win the Rookie of the Year Award this year. Gabby Irwin won the award in the fall for women's soccer.
"I'm so proud of Grace and happy that my fellow coaches recognized her impressive season," said Head Coach Sarah Cartmill.
"Grace made us better as soon as she stepped on the court, not only with her scoring ability and range but with her vision and willingness to make the extra pass or step up when we needed her. We cannot wait to see what she has ahead of her."
Jenna Einink last won the award for Fredonia State back in 2015-16. Alexis Cheatham won the award in 2013-14.
