Lorie Latour
Students, faculty and staff, as well as area residents who are interested in learning how to strengthen their capacity to be effective in leadership roles and processes, are invited to attend a lecture by alumna Lorie Latour, vice president of Hematology Patient Services at Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited, on Monday, May 6, at 1 p.m., at Williams Center Room S204.
“Lorie is passionate about leadership development and putting a solid plan in place to continue to develop oneself as a leader,” said Department of Communication Assistant Professor Angela McGowan-Kirsch. “Lorie is also a firm believer that we are all in charge of our own development plan.”
Ms. Latour notes that it’s not unusual for people to ask “what can my company do to develop me?” While acknowledging this reality, Latour believes that a truly committed leader needs to become “ready now” for future openings as they occur. Developing leadership skills is an ongoing process, Dr. McGowan-Kirsch adds.
Latour received a B.S. in Marketing at Fredonia in 1987 and a M.B.A. in Management from Regis University. Takeda is a research and development driven global biopharmaceutical company with global headquarters located in Tokyo.
The lecture, sponsored by the Department of Communication, is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
