Freshman Madison Lowe -- who homered earlier in the game -- delivered the big hit in a three-run seventh as the Fredonia State softball team overcame a two-run deficit to win Game 2, 7-6, over Oswego on Saturday. The Devils were 13-8 winners in Game 1.

Game 1
The Devils led 6-2 after two innings, but the pesky Lakers would come back to tie the game at 8-all in the top of the sixth. Fredonia State then took control in the bottom of the sixth, scoring five times.

With the game tied, Alyssa Santiago delivered the go-ahead hit with a two-run single. The Devils tacked on three more before the end of the game.

Emily Chelius and Alyssa Santiago led the Devils with two hits, and Lowe scored three times.

Game 2
Down 6-4 to start the seventh, Erin Cunningham led off the inning with a double. After one out, Avery Hill doubled home the first run. Madison Devore walked.

Allie Wandell then ripped a single that hit the left field line, plating Hill. Devore and Wandell each moved up on the throw to the plate. Lowe connected on a single to drive in the winning run.

Jordan Kanick picked up the win with 1 2/3 innings of relief without allowing a run.

Oswego falls to 7-19 and 2-10 in the SUNYAC.

Fredonia State improves to 10-16 overall and 5-5 in the conference.
