The Fredonia School of Music will host its annual Concerto Competition Sunday at 1 p.m. in King Concert Hall.

The event is free and the livestream can be viewed at www.fredonia.edu/music/live

The finalists are: Yijun Wu, violin (student of Jessica Tong), Jordan Raup, cello (student of Dr. Natasha Farny) , Kim Rosch, piano (student of Dr. Eliran Avni), Ben Yoder, oboe (student of Dr. Sarah Hamilton), Wolfgang J Scheitinger, bassoon and Austin Young, bassoon (students of Laura Koepke), Devin Banning, alto saxophone (student of Dr. Wildy Zumwalt and Nicholas Childs), Erin Harrigan, horn and Justin Ciccone, horn (students of Dr. Marc Guy), Landon T. Gray, trumpet (student of Alex Jokipii), Abigail Brudz, voice (student of Sarah Luebke), Patrick Connolly, voice (student of Kim Upcraft), and Abigail Sheahan, voice (student of Lisa Layman).

The judges this year will be Dr. Paula Holcomb (bands), David Rose (strings), Sean Duggan (piano), Dr. Guy (brass), James Piorkowski (percussion/guitar), Julie Newell (voice), Barry Crawford (woodwinds), and guest Timothy Long, music director of opera from the Eastman School of Music. Judges do not rank their own students.

Winners will perform with one of the large ensembles during the 2022-2023 academic year.
