Fredonia State junior Lauren Cullinan has been named to the 2019 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Cullinan, a Biology and Psychology double major with a 3.81 grade-point average, has been selected in NCAA Division III District 3 in recognition of her combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Honorees selected First Team Academic All-District® advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.

Cullinan, a 2017 graduate of Clarence High School, has captained the Blue Devils the past two seasons. She started all 17 games in 2019 and led the team in minutes played. She had two goals and two assists while serving mostly as a defensive center back, at times moving up into the offensive half depending on the game situation. She made the 2019 Blue Devil Classic All-Tourney team and has been an All SUNYAC selection as a freshman and a sophomore. The 2019 SUNYAC All-Conference Team for women's soccer will be announced next Tuesday.

Away from the field, Cullinan is vice president of the Fredonia State Student-Athlete Advisory Council, and is a member of the Tri-Beta Biology Honors Society and the Health Professions Club. Her service activities has included helping with her team's holiday Adopt-a-Family project. She also as volunteered with the Miracle on Main Street community service initiative.

She is the daughter of Cheryl and Kevin Cullinan of Clarence.
