The Fredonia State hockey team defeated the NCAA Division I Niagara Club hockey team, 4-2, on Saturday. Callen Dailey led the team with a pair of third period goals, including an empty netter.
After a scoreless first, Fredonia State's Andrew Keith and Evan Pitzman both scored to stake the Devils to a 2-0 lead.
Niagara's Tristan Toillafer scored at the 14:51 mark to halve the Devils' lead.
Dailey scored his first goal 7:43 into the period to make it a 3-1 game. His empty netter in the closing seconds finished the game off.
Dalton Jerzak made 25 saves in goal, surrendering one score for a .962 save percentage. Johon Nyborq made 36 saves and surrendered three scores.
Baxter Kimball, Johnny Aonso, Justin Guelph, and Johnny Malandruccolo were each credited with an assist.
The game did not count as an NCAA victory given the club status of the Niagara squad.
The Devils are back in Steele Hall on Tuesday for a non-conference matchup vs. Nazareth.
