Fredonia and Southern New Hampshire played to a 2-2 tie Friday in the championship game of the Manchester PAL/Stovepipe Tournament at The Ice Den.

Following a scoreless overtime, the Blue Devils (6-1-1) were awarded the tournament title as Jasper Korican-Barlay (Oakland, Calif.) netted the deciding goal in the fifth round of the shootout.

The Penmen (5-3-2) took a 1-0 lead at 4:12 of the first period before Dunn evened it 1-1 at the 17:13 mark. The Blue Devils took their first lead on Victor Tracy's (Danderyd, Sweden) goal at 5:36 of the second period. The Penmen earned the tie on Joe Florino's goal at 13:50 of the third period.

Luke Rivera (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) and Jacob Haynes (Whitby, Ont.) earned assists on Dunn's goal. Ryan Dunner(Glassboro, N.J.) and Jimmy Morgan (Highlands Ranch, Col.) assisted Tracy.  

Fredonia's Anton Rosén (Orsa, Sweden) made 35 saves to run his record to to 2-1-1 this season. He made four saves during the shootout while a fifth shot sailed wide. Kurt Gutting made 28 saves for Southern New Hampshire.

The Blue Devils will take a 3-1 SUNYAC record and a six-game unbeaten streak (5-0-1) into next weekend's annual trip to northern New York for games at Potsdam on Friday and Plattsburgh on Saturday.

NOTES: Dunn was named most valuable player in the tournament. In addition to his goal Sunday, he had a goal in Saturday's 4-3 win over U.Mass.-Dartmouth ... Dunner had three assists in the two games ... Fredonia was making its first appearance in the tournament, which is in its 24th year.
