Fredonia State Women's soccer team closed out the Blue Devil Classic with a tie against Ithaca College, with a score of 2-2. The tie was just enough to give the Blue Devils the weekend victory of the entire tournament.

With 32:31 left in the first half, Fredonia State was able to get on the scoresheet with a 1-0 lead. Bri Grazen chipped a pass over two defenders heads from the far right side of the field, where Talia Defay was able to settle the ball off of her chest and put it home.

Right before the first half heat timeout, the Blue Devils found themselves in a hectic situation. Sabrina Suriani made a diving save, where the ball rolled off of her fingers and sat right on the goal line. Fredonia State defender, Grace Auer was able to get the clear before the Ithaca attacker was able to score.

The Devils were able to hold the score at 1-0 into halftime. Ithaca outshot the devils 13-4, with an 5-3 advantage in shots on goal and had six corners compared to the Devils one.

Six minutes into the second half, the Bombers were able to tie the game at 1-1. The goal came after a Blue Devils turnover within their own box, where Julia Cascone had a perfect look to score Ithaca's first goal of the game.

With under ten minutes left in the contest, Fredonia State broke the tie with a blistering shot off the foot of Maddie Payne. Katie Sellers was credited with the assist after she drove the ball down the left side of the field, and crossed it to the top of the box. Payne was able to settle the hard pass and found the top right corner of the net.

The Blue Devils lead did not hold long as the Bombers found their second goal of the game, at the 86th minute mark. Rosie Bostian took the ball down the right side of the box and was able to find the top left corner of the net.

Suriani recorded nine saves over 90 minutes of play.

Fredonia State hosts Allegheny in a 6:30 p.m. matchup on Tuesday night at University Stadium on campus.
