The Fredonia State Men's Soccer team tied SUNY Oswego, 1-1, for their first SUNYAC matchup of the year. Neither team had a lot going offensively, combining for nine shots on goal for the evening.

The Blue Devils wasted no time as they netted a goal at the 4:24 mark of the first half. Fredonia State was a warded a corner kick opportunity , where Jacob Gennaro was able to find Huddy Kwiatkowski for the Devils lone goal of the game.

The Lakers fell into trouble quickly, as Liam Rothar received a red card, only 5 minutes into the contest. This gave the Devils a man advantage for the rest of the game.

The costly penalty did not stop the Lakers offense as they were able to find the back of the net, within the 17th minute mark of the first half. Kyle Gehnrich tied the game up at 1-1

The game was locked at one for the remainder of the game, leading to Fredonia States first conference tie of the year.

Matt D'Arpino had three saves for Oswego and help improve their record to 2-3-1 overall.

William Ricardson recorded four saves over the course of 90 minutes. His play improved the teams record to 1-3-2 overall.

Coach P.J Gondek had some words to say after the game, "Tough result after the red card, which took them to 10 men for almost the whole game. The last 15 minutes felt like there was a wall in front of the goal. I cannot believe we did not score."

The Devils will be back home on Wednesday, taking on SUNY Buffalo State at 7:00 p.m.
