The Fredonia State men's soccer team finished their tournament contest with a matchup against Wooster College, on Sunday evening. The contest was back and fourth throughout the entire, leading to a final score of 2-2.

The Devils fall to 0-1-1 on the year.

The Blue Devils started off hot, scoring a goal 14:37 into the first half. Jacob Vallas found the back of the net after a great through ball by Markus Johansson that cause the goalie to be out of position.

However, the lead did not last long as Wooster found the score sheet under a minute after Fredonia States first goal. Jonathan Logan took a shot from the right side of the box that found its way over William Richardson and into the far left corner of the net.

Fredonia State did not let the quick response get to them as they continued their pressure on the Scots defense. With the continued pressure, the Devils were able to net another goal within the 21st minute of the first half. Fredonia State's last goal of the contest came off of a cross from the right side of the field by Chance Lacroix, that was put home by Dylan Ange.

Wooster's Moody Saadi found a way to tie the game up before the first half came to an end, off of an assist by Jack Whitehouse. The goal came off of an indirect Free kick volley.

The game stayed locked at two for the entirety of the second half.

The Fighting Scots outshot the Devils, 12-7, but tied at four with shots on goal.

Richardson made two saves for Fredonia State within the first half, before making the goalie switch to Kyle Pezzulo. Pezzulo did not face a shot within the second half of the contest.

Coach Pj Gondek had some words to say after the game, "Today was a decent result for our team. We had the lead twice and gave it back with mental errors. That is the area we need to clean up heading into our tournament at University Stadium this Friday. With how much pressure we were under late and to hang on to the score, is a positive going forward."

The Devils continue their season next weekend in the 2022 Blue Devil Classic at Fredonia State.
