The Fredonia State baseball team extended its win streak to four games with 10-4 and 5-4 wins over visiting Hilbert College on Monday. Christian Pagano connected for a two-run homerun in Game 1, his third in as many games. Alex Gannon added a two-run blast of his own in the opener.

Game 1
Brady Ventura led off the bottom of the first with a double, and one out later, Pagano hit his sixth round tripper of the year. Gannon would later drive in Tyler Curtis with an RBI single to stake the Devils to a 3-0 lead. Curtis would finish the day 3 for 3 with a double.

Leading 3-1, the Devils put up five in the bottom of the fifth and two more in the sixth to put the game away.

Michael Byrns was credited with the win, going 4 1/3 innings without allowing a hit. He struck out six, walked a pair and hit a batter. David Adams entered the game when the Devils led 3-1. He came in with two runners on and struck out a pair to work out of the jam.

Adams would go 2 2/3 giving up three runs and striking out four for his second save of the year.

Pagano, Ventura, and Gannon each had two hits apiece.

Game 2
Tied 4-4 in the bottom of the fifth, Fredonia State loaded the bases with nobody out, but could only muster one run. However, it proved to be the game winner when Max Koller grounded out to plate Ventura, who had led off the inning with a hit by pitch.

Nick Syposs, who came on in relief of starter Owen Ludwig, picked up the win. Syposs went 3 2/3 innings, striking out four and allowing two runs, one earned, and did not walk a batter.

AJ Roach drove in a pair of runs, as the Devils also used three Hilbert errors to their advantage. Ethan Behnke and Kyle Tedford had two hits apiece.

Hilbert drops to 19-12 on the season.

The Devils (13-16) take on Westminster on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Ludwig Field.
