Madigan Howard, a senior from Bemus Point majoring in Middle Childhood Specialist-Mathematics, has been named R.A. of the Month for September by the Office of Residence Life.
She is a Resident Assistant at Disney Hall.
Disney Hall Residence Director Leanna Hess, who made the nomination, indicated Ms. Howard shows a thorough understanding of the four institutional learning goals and “has such a big heart and cares so much about those she interacts with.” It is Howard’s second semester as a R.A.
“Madigan will drop anything to help out a fellow staff member or resident to make sure they feel supported in whatever is going on in their life,” Ms. Hess explained. “Madigan is always professional; she makes sure that she is getting whatever she needs to get done to help others and help others get their stuff done.”

When asked about her favorite part of being a R.A., Howard stated that it is the connections made not only between her own staff, but also the residents.
“I’ve learned more about patience, compassion, respect and empathy through my coworkers and residents than I ever have within my major. I am truly grateful for the memories and experiences they’ve given me,” Howard said. “They truly make me a better Resident Assistant.”
The fall term is Howard’s last semester as a R.A. before she does her student teaching in the spring.
