The end of the semester can be difficult for many students, and the Student Health Center, Counseling Center and Campus Life staff are keenly aware that many struggle with food instability.

To address the need, operating hours of the food pantry in LoGrasso Hall, located in the vestibule of the main entrance, have been expanded during the last few weeks of the semester. The pantry is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A second food pantry location, hosted by Campus Life, is the information desk in the Williams Center; it will be open seven days a week, from 5 p.m. to midnight.

“We have seen an overwhelming response with our previous food pantries with over thousands of food items being given out to students each semester,” reported Deborah Dibble, director of the Student Health Center. The initiative is jointly sponsored by Campus Life, Student Health Center and Counseling Center to help serve students in need.

Those interested in supporting the food pantries may drop off non-perishable food donations at the Campus Life office in the Williams Center or LoGrasso Hall (Health or Counseling Center).

Needed items include: single serving cereal, oatmeal, granola bars, Pop-Tarts, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, soup, ramen noodles, applesauce, self-stable Jello/pudding, ravioli, pasta dinners, canned vegetables, pasta and sauce. Also needed are travel-size toiletry items such as toothpaste, soap, shampoo and toilet paper.

At the end of the semester, leftover food will be kept in both the campus food pantries located in LoGrasso Hall and in Campus Life for students to access as needed in the spring semester.
