Six Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance students participated in the first regional daCi USA Day of Dance Conference, where they participated in a variety of classes and opportunities to engage in creativity, collaboration, culture and community, at the Tapestry Charter School in Buffalo on Sept. 22.

Classes ranged from Community Yoga to Katherine Dunham Technique and Afro-Caribbean/Modern Fusion to Professional Development in Best Practices for teachers. The students were under the supervision of Angelika Summerton, senior lecturer in the Department of Theatre and Dance.

DaCi USA, a member of daCi International (dance and the Child International), celebrates the power of dance all over the world. It brings together people of all ages, backgrounds and cultures to experience dance as creators, performers and spectators.

The next regional daCI conference is planned for September 2020.
