The annual music festival offered the Middle School Band Camp, High School Band Camp, Honors Solo Vocal Camp and a String Camp.
Dr. Leonidas Lagrimas, serving as director of this year’s School of Music Summer Music Festival, has issued the following message:
To Our Fredonia Summer Music Festival Family:
Based on our current situation, and after consultation with administration, faculty, staff, and camp families, it is with great disappointment that we announce the decision to cancel the 2020 Summer Music Festival at the Fredonia School of Music. While we know this decision is undoubtedly disappointing to so many, we at SUNY Fredonia are keeping the health and safety of all of our faculty, staff, campers, and families in mind.
All families who were registered for any of our four music camps will be receiving e-mail correspondence shortly regarding their full tuition refund.
While we cannot hold our camps in person, at this point, we are exploring options with our respective camp directors and staff for possible online learning and music-making opportunities during the summer. We will announce these opportunities as soon as they are official.
We are looking forward to Summer 2021 and the opportunity to reunite once again as a community of music makers. We will continue to stay in touch regarding next year's festival and look forward to welcoming everyone back to our beautiful campus.
We are also sending out this message as a means of gratitude and appreciation to the many community members, families, and the students themselves who have extended their kindness and words of support during this difficult time. We hope for your continued support in the future.
From our Summer Music Festival family to yours, please continue to stay safe and well.
