Hailey Garrison, of Angola, NY, has been named Student of the Month for January/February by the Office of Residence Life.
A senior majoring in Business Administration, Ms. Garrison was nominated for the award by Head Women’s Cheerleading Coach Julie Troche in recognition of strong academics and numerous contributions, highlighted by Garrison’s work with the cheerleading team and within the community.
Coach Troche praised Garrison’s abilities, stating, “Hailey's academic performance throughout all of her years at Fredonia has been one of her priorities. Hailey participates in S.A.A.C (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) and community events such as Fall Sweep, Hanging of the Greens, Celebrate Mondays and Pink the Rink.
“She has dedicated each year to community service in various areas on campus and off, for every season she has been part of Blue Devil athletics," Troche said.
When asked about her favorite things about Fredonia, Garrison wrote, “I love the class sizes because they are more personable. I also love that I am close to home.”
When asked about her future plans she responded, “My future goals are to graduate summa cum laude in May 2025. After graduation I want to pursue a career in marketing.”
The Student of the Month program was implemented in 2003 to recognize students who are well-rounded, excel in their academics and contribute positively to the campus and community.
