Layla Hollis, a first semester Resident Assistant in Eisenhower Hall, was named RA of the Month for September by the Office of Residence Life.
Ms. Hollis, from Polk, PA, is a Music Education major with a minor in School and Counseling Psychology. She is also a member of the Fredonia Honors Program and the jazz/pop a cappella group Dynamic Intonation, and sings in the Chamber Choir.
When asked about favorite thing(s) about Fredonia, Hollis responded, “What I love most about Fredonia are the wonderful people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and the strong connections I’ve formed within our community.
“Fredonia has truly become my home – thanks to the strong sense of community I’ve found both within and outside the School of Music. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have met some of the most incredible friends, coworkers, professors and colleagues during my time here so far.”
When asked about future goals, Hollis replied, “My future goals are to stay involved on campus and within my major while improving my leadership and professional skills as I work towards my bachelor’s degree in Music Education.
“In the future, I hope to obtain my master’s degree and become a music teacher, advocating for the importance of music education in schools and communities, wherever that takes me.”
Hollis was nominated by Eisenhower Hall Residence Director Autumn Hobel-Furrer.
