Fredonia State secured a dramatic 13-12 overtime victory against Plattsburgh on Saturday, with Gabriella Lewinski netting the game-winning goal to clinch the Blue Devils' fifth win of the season and first in conference play.

Plattsburgh built an early lead, finishing the first quarter with a 4-1 advantage. However, Fredonia State fought back in the second quarter with goals from Lewinski and Sydney Buchko, closing the gap to 5-3 at halftime. Entering the fourth quarter, the Cardinals had built 10-5 lead. Fredonia State, however, exploded with seven goals in the final quarter, including two more from Buchko and two from Emma Cockerel.

Plattsburgh's Cynthia Barnosky temporarily restored the lead for the Cardinals, but Lewinski's clutch goal tied the score at 12-12. With just over five minutes into overtime, Lewinski struck again off an assist from Cockerel, sealing the victory.

The Devils were led offensively by Buchko, who tallied four goals and three assists. Cockerel contributed three goals and two assists, while Lewinski completed her hat trick with the decisive game winning goal. Kiera Young added two goals, and Cailin Karalus chipped in with one. Plattsburgh was paced by Barnosky who scored three goals. Maddy Garcia added two goals as well, while Ashley O'Hara dished out two assists for the Cardinals.

Fredonia goalkeeper Ashleigh Manns had a standout performance, making 13 saves while Plattsburgh's Mae Olshansky recorded five saves in the loss.

The Devils return to action on Wednesday, March 26, as they travel to face Oswego State at 4 p.m.
