On behalf of the Office of Residence Life, the Student of the Month Committee encourages faculty, staff and administrators to nominate students for its Student of the Month Program.
The program is entering its 20th year, having begun in Spring 2003 to recognize outstanding SUNY Fredonia students.
The Student of the Month Committee will recognize students who are well-rounded, who excel in their academics and who contribute positively to the campus and community. Nominations of students who embody and/or intentionally support the campus in honoring diversity, enhancing wellness and promoting career-readiness are especially encouraged.
The student selected as the Student of the Month will receive a $20 gift card to the University Bookstore, a certificate, and lunch at Cranston Marche with their nominator. In addition, the student’s name will be engraved on a plaque that will hang in the Office of Residence Life, and the student will have a biographical article published in the Campus Report.
The deadline for August/September nominations closes on Friday, Sept. 29. Nominated students are to have completed at least one year of study at Fredonia. Students do not need to live on campus.
The due date for the October Student of the Month nominations is Monday, Oct. 30; for November Student of the Month nominations are due Friday, Dec. 1.
The winner will be selected by committee members Assistant Director of Residence Life and Town Hall Coordinator Jill Swanson, Nixon Hall Residence Director Heather Williams and Residence Director of University Commons and Gregory Hall Jacob Steinhoff.
