Nyles Emile, of Brooklyn, NY, has been named Student of the Month for November by the Office of Residence Life.
Nyles was nominated for this award by SUNY Fredonia staff member David White for his strong academics and numerous contributions, highlighted by Nyles’ work as the President of the Black Student Union. Nyles is a senior majoring in Acting.
When asked about his favorite things about Fredonia, Nyles wrote: ”I have enjoyed being able to direct my first show, ‘Fairview,’ this past September with the club Performing Arts Company with a sold-out run. Directing that was a big dream of mine. I’m glad to have made friends and new colleagues that would last me a lifetime.” When asked about his future goals, Nyles added, “I’m going to continue acting whether it be in film or theatre. I want to continue directing and get into a graduate school program that specializes in it.”
The Student of the Month program was implemented in 2003 to recognize students who are well-rounded, excel in their academics and contribute positively to the campus and community.
