When asked about her favorite thing(s) about Fredonia, O’Meara replied: “What I love most about Fredonia is how supportive and welcoming this community is! I moved here in 2021 for college all the way from Colombia, and this campus has truly become my home.

“As an RA, I have had the opportunity to meet a lot of people and help this community grow. Being able to connect with residents from diverse backgrounds has enriched my experience and allowed me to share my own culture.

“I find great joy in creating an environment where everyone feels included and appreciated. It’s fulfilling to see my residents grow, knowing that I’ve played an important part in their college [experience]. Building this community, where everyone feels safe and supported, has made my time at Fredonia incredibly meaningful.”

O’Meara was nominated by Sabrina Sosa, who is Residence Director of Kasling Hall. Ms. Sosa’s praise of O’Meara included pointing out how she is always looking to improve the building for the students and always goes above and beyond to make sure that the residents are always taken care of.
