Scholarships valued at $350 each will be awarded to three students at the Rosa Parks Scholarship Competition awards ceremony on Wednesday, Oct. 27, at noon, in the Williams Center Horizon Room.

Scholarship recipients are Violet Hess of Fredonia, a junior Psychology major, who produced the video “Ripple;” Lucy Knappenberger of Portland, a senior English Adolescence Education major, who wrote the essay “The Duckling,” and Israel Ortiz of Rochester, N.Y., a senior Political Science major, who wrote the poem “Fly on the Wall.”

The annual competition welcomes student entries, in the form of writing, speaking, drawing, photography and dance, that express views and experiences with multiculturalism and the celebration of diversity.

The ceremony is free and open to the public. It is also available via Zoom using the online link.
