The SUNYAC picked Fredonia's Katie Sellers and New Paltz's Maddie Franklin as the SUNYAC Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week respectively.
Sellers scored three goals in a 4-1 win at Keuka in her only game of the week. It was Sellers' second-career hattrick. The win improved the Devils to a 4-1 record.
Franklin has allowed only one goal all season for the Hawks and was apart of extending the team's shutout streak to four games with two more this week. In a 2-0 road win over Mount Saint Vincent, Franklin had arguably the biggest play of the game as she saved a penalty kick in the 15th minute that could have turned the outcome. She got up and made consecutive saves and finished the 90-minutes matching a season-high with eight saves. She then was a part of another shutout as SUNY New Paltz rolled to a dominant 3-0 win over Farmingdale State Saturday, as she faced one shot, which came early in the first half which would have equalized the game. Franklin dove to her right to make the stop to preserve the lead. She came out in the 70th after the Hawks led by three.
