The American Democracy Project is again partnering with the League of Women Voters of Chautauqua County to make voter registration more accessible to students.

“We’re hosting on-campus voter registration drives during the month of September. Each event gives students an opportunity to grab a voter registration form, scan a QR code to register online, ask questions about filling out the form, and find out how to submit the form,” said Department of Communication Associate Professor Angela McGowan-Kirsch, who serves as ADP chair.

On-campus voter registration drives will be held on the following dates from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Aug. 28 – Table in University Commons
  • Sept. 5 – Table in McEwen Hall
  • Sept. 10 – Table in University Commons
  • Sept. 18 – (Constitution Day) Table outside Williams Center Room S204
  • Sept. 26 – Table in McEwen Hall

Students who are New York state residents can find out if they are registered to vote online and register to vote online. In NYS, residents must be registered to vote by Oct. 26.

“As the newest voting members of our democracy, it’s important that Fredonia students have access to the tools they need to be prepared to vote in the upcoming elections,” commented Dr. McGowan-Kirsch.
