The Psi Chi Honor Society in Psychology will host two virtual events in October, a Psychology Graduate School Fair and an information night on applying to graduate school.

The second event focuses on psychology programs, but anyone is welcome to participate.

The Psychology Graduate School Fair is slated for Thursday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m., on Zoom. Many graduate schools in the Buffalo area, along with a select few out of state colleges, will be attending. They will be discussing their programs, admissions criteria, and application processes. After each school has outlined their programs, students will have the opportunity to talk with specific recruiters from colleges of their choice. The graduate school fair is open to Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice and Social Work majors. Organizers note that the event could benefit anyone considering graduate school, whether they are a sophomore or a senior! The fair can be accessed online.

Psi Chi will also sponsor an "Applying to Graduate School Information Night" on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 7 to 8 p.m. on Zoom. Speakers will be Fredonia faculty Drs. Andrea Zevenbergen and Joe McFall, as well as Caitlin DiBattista, a May 2020 graduate of the Psychology department who is now attending graduate school. The panelists will discuss preparing graduate school applications, including identifying good-fit graduate programs, taking the Graduate Record Exam (GRE), obtaining letters of recommendation, writing a personal statement and preparing for interviews. The session would be beneficial to students at all levels. The event can be accessed online.
