Ever wonder if views held by SUNY Fredonia students align on hot-button issues with students across the nation?
Join the Unify Challenge College Bowl conversation and find out.
This is a chance for you to meet a new friend and reflect on your own views and values ahead of the 2024 presidential election." - Kevin Hahn
“Students who register for the College Bowl will be matched with a peer from another college across the country,” said Associate Director of Residence Life Kevin Hahn.
“Together, you will engage in a one-hour virtual, guided conversation about 18 topics, like immigration, mental health and climate change,” Mr. Hahn said. It’s all offered at no cost and there’s no preparation to join.
“This is a chance for you to meet a new friend and reflect on your own views and values ahead of the 2024 presidential election,” Hahn explained. The Office of Residence Life and the American Democracy Project are supporting campus participation in the nationwide civic engagement movement.
How does the challenge work?
• A short sign-up questionnaire is completed;
• On the night of the event, participants will receive a link to join the challenge through a virtual video conference and meet their matched partner;
• Together, both participants will cover a variety of issues through a guided survey about goals for America across 18 different topics;
• A brief post-event survey for impact data and feedback is taken.
There are 14 day/time options that students can select to participate in the college bowl. The days are Tuesday through Thursday, Sept. 24 to Sept. 26, Tuesday through Thursday, Oct. 1 to Oct 3, and Wednesday, Oct. 9. Challenges will be offered two times each day and take about an hour to complete.
