Seeking an ultra-comfortable place on campus, one offering cozy seating and an abundance of wellness resources, to relax and unwind?

Students need look no further than the Williams Center, where Campus Life, the Counseling Center and Student Association have teamed up to create the FREDwell Lounge in Room S221, the former Leadership Studies room.

“This new initiative was designed to encourage students to engage in self-care in a warm and new environment,” said Campus Life Director Mark Suida.

The Williams Center, with its long-standing tradition of supporting student activities and offering comfortable space to study, dining options and housing student service offices that support ways for student to get connected and engaged in student life, was an obvious location for the wellness lounge.

Students are invited to attend a free open house there on Wednesday, Feb. 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., where they can pick up some free swag. The lounge will be open for regular student use beginning on Feb. 10.

The regular hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 1 to 10 p.m. and Sunday, 1 to 9 p.m.

Additionally, Counseling Center interns and Campus Life student workers are excited to support students during this unique semester. Students can reach out to Campus Life via email, call 716-673-3143 or email Mr. Suida to ask questions or offer programming/resource ideas.

Thanks for creating the lounge also go to Counselor in Residence Miranda Nellis; Prevention, Advocacy and Wellness Coordinator Julie Bezek, Student Association President Israel Ortiz and Assistant Director of Student Development Rachel Martin.
