The 10th annual Global Banquet, featuring cuisine that reflects SUNY Fredonia’s international students, will be held on Thursday, Nov. 21.
Among foods to be featured are Japanese fried chicken (Karaage), Korean beef (Bulgogi) and a vegetarian curry from India. The dinner, which will be prepared by the Faculty Student Association (FSA), will be followed by songs and dances performed by international students. A basket raffle is also planned.
Countries represented by students enrolled this semester include: Canada, South Korea, Japan, China, Cambodia, Columbia, Czeck Republic, France, Germany, India, Israel, Malysia, Mexico, South Africa, Syria, Taiwan and the United Kingdom. Flags representing all countries will be on display.
Seating is limited for the banquet that’s expected to be a sell-out, according to International Student Services Assistant Director Jacob Czelusta. Tickets are $1 for students and $20 for non-students, and can be purchased at this link.
The banquet is supported by International Student Services and FSA. All proceeds from ticket sales benefit scholarships for international students.
