Victor Tracy (Stockholm, Sweden) scored with 39 seconds remaining as Fredonia defeated Plattsburgh, 3-2, in SUNYAC men's hockey Saturday night.

Tracy was stationed in front of the net when the puck was sent his way from the right sideboards. His quick shot beat Plattsburgh goaltender Jimmy Poreda from in close. It was his fourth goal of the season and his first game-winner.

Jimmy Morgan (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) and Ryan Dunner (Glassboro, N.J.) scored earlier for the Blue Devils (8-1-1 overall, 5-1-0 SUNYAC), who extended their unbeaten streak to eight games, including a sweep in the North Country. Fredonia defeated Potsdam 4-2 on Friday.

Eric Bogart (London, Ont.) finished with 32 saves and improved to 6-0-0 this season. Poreda made 31 saves for the Cardinals (4-4-1 overall, 4-2-1 SUNYAC).

Fredonia outshot Plattsburgh 11-8 in the scoreless first period.

Morgan made it 1-0 at 7:13 of the second period on a rush up the ice and give-and-go with Tyler Riter (Orchard Park). The play began in the defensive end when Jacob Haynes (Whitby, Ont.) won the puck along the boards.

Fredonia's potent power play clicked later in the period as Dunner put in a wrister from just outside the left circle. Todd Schauss (Terryville, Conn.) set up Dunner with a pass out of the corner after Tracy won a battle along the boards to free up the puck.

The Blue Devils entered the weekend ranked second in NCAA Division III in power-play efficiency, having converted 11 of 33 chances.

Plattsburgh scored a much-needed goal late in the second period when Liam Lawson deflected a shot from the point to cut the margin to 2-1. Andrew Pizzo then tied the game at 13:31 of the third period with a slapshot from the right faceoff circle.

Jasper Korican-Barlay (Oakland, Calif.) and Colin Valentine (Turnersville, N.J.) picked up assists on Tracy's game-winning goal, which moved Fredonia past Plattsburgh and into second place in the SUNYAC standings.

In addition, the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has chosen the week's Men's Ice Hockey Athletes, and Tracy was named as Player of the Week.

The Blue Devils return to the road for a pair of games next weekend at SUNY Canton -- Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 4 p.m.
