Students, faculty and staff at Fredonia can have a front-row seat for up-to-the-minute results of the highly anticipated mid-term elections at the Election Results Watch Party on Tuesday, Nov. 6, in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room.
Live television coverage of voter tallies at the polls will be projected on a large screen, beginning at 9 p.m. Light refreshments will be served at the event, which will continue until 11:30 p.m., or until results are announced. It is free and open to the public.
Fredonia’s American Democracy Project Committee, event sponsor, encourages students to become aware of the issues being discussed in government, decide how they may affect them and react by voting and becoming involved to make a difference.
To vote in Fredonia in-person a student must:
- register to vote by Oct. 12 listing their Fredonia address as the "Address Where You Live" on the voter registration form (registration forms are available on campus in the Campus Life Office in the Williams Center and on the seventh floor of Maytum Hall - Room 702)
- vote any time from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Nov. 6 at the Wheelock School on Chestnut Street — transportation will be provided from the Williams Center to the Wheelock School and back between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. The Wheelock School is also within walking distance from campus.
