The Office of Student Creative Activity and Research (OSCAR) will host an open house over two days – Tuesday, Sept. 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Wednesday, Sept. 20, 3 to 6 p.m. – to introduce students, faculty and staff to OSCAR’s new physical space in Reed Library.
Engaging and informative conversation, along with light refreshments, will be featured in the event that’s free and open to the campus community.
Participants will have the chance to discover why undergraduate research and creative activity are important, explore research and creative projects from students and faculty at Fredonia, learn more about travel funding through OSCAR, and sign up for the new Partners in Inquiry and Creativity program for student mentees and faculty/staff mentors.
Students will learn more about how they can get involved in research and creative projects that will help them gain experience for future graduate work and for the evolving job market. Faculty/staff will learn more about how they can support emerging researchers, artists and thought-leaders as mentors.
The library’s exhibit area is serving double duty as OSCAR’s new home with the addition of several collaborative work tables and the OSCAR banner. There is also an office for OSCAR’s new director, Dr. Jill Reese.
