Three faculty members of the School of Music – Christian Bernhard, Paul Murphy and Jill Reese
– will give a presentation at the 56th
National Conference of The College Music Society in
Boston, being held Oct. 30 through Nov. 2.
Their workshop is entitled, “Improvisation and the University Music Curriculum: Preparing Preservice Teachers
for the Future.” It will offer research and best practices for creative music-making and include
examples of improvisation throughout the undergraduate music curriculum.
