SUNY Fredonia has been chosen again as one of 23 venues in the world for the “Best of Ottawa Tour” from the 2011 Ottawa International Animation Festival. This year, the tour will make its Fredonia stop on Wednesday, April 4, at 7 p.m. in Fenton 105. It is free and recommended for audiences aged 18 and above, due to mature content.
The Best of Ottawa screenings showcase films awarded top honors from the Ottawa International Animation Film Official Competition, the largest of its kind in the world. The Wednesday night event at Fredonia will show a sample of the outstanding animated works screened at the 2011 festival.
The highlights include Pjotr Sapegin’s heart-warming “The Last Norwegian Troll”, the riveting grand-prize winner “Moxie” by Stephen Irwin and Ben Cady’s hilarious crowd-favorite “The Goat and The Well.”
The screening tours internationally from November 2011 until mid-September 2012. Be sure to ask your local theatre, school, or film organization about the Best of Ottawa 2011 program.
The showcase is hosted by the Media Art Club, Jill Johnston-Price, professor of the Visual Arts and New Media Department and Phil Hastings, coordinator for SUNYWide Film Festival.
