No. 17 Fredonia State rolled over Potsdam, 18-4, to improve to 14-0 and tie a single-season team record for wins in a season.

The Blue Devils, 6-0 in the SUNYAC, matched the 14 wins recorded by last year's team en route to Fredonia State's first-ever NCAA appearance in women's lacrosse.

There are two regular-season games remaining -- Tuesday at Brockport, and next Saturday at No. 4 Cortland.

It was Senior Day on a cold and blustery afternoon at University Stadium and all four Blue Devil seniors had integral roles in the outcome. Rachael Reinis (Webster) led the scoring with six goals, Erin Edson (Amherst) had three goals, Kaila Fox (Clifton Springs) had two, and goalkeeper Casey Chiesa (Baldwinsville) was credited with three saves.

Chiesa improved her career record to 48-18, adding to her school record for wins and saves (559).

Blue Devil junior Katie Kleine (Cazenovia) had 12 draw controls, the most by a Fredonia State player since at least 2006.

In addition to the scoring by the seniors, Katie Glagolev also had two goals while Marissa Cussins (Corning), Kleine, Mary Bruton (Palmyra), Alicia Jones (Canton), and Juliana Kotas (Lancaster) had one goal each. Cussins was credited with three assists while Fox, Kleine, and Glagolev had two assists each. Cussins had six ground balls; Bruton and Reinis had four each.

Whitney Bosart had two goals for Potsdam, Bailey Weigel took four draw controls, and goalkeeper Jen Chmiel made nine saves. The loss dropped the Bears to 4-8 overall, 1-5 in the SUNYAC.
