On Tuesday, April 3, the Department of Philosophy Department is sponsoring the talk, "Why I am not a Buddhist" by faculty member Dr. Dale Tuggy.

The event is slated for 5 p.m. in the Kelly Family Auditorium in the Science Center, and is free and open to the public.

What is described by organizers as a “politically incorrect and humorous talk” will cover the Buddhist version of reincarnation ("rebirth"), their no-self doctrine, meaning of life issues, atheism, polytheism and monism.

Dr. Tuggy specializes in the philosophy of religion and world religions. He is internationally known for his work on open theism (God is omniscient but does not know what we will do in the future) and the Trinity (There is a unity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). He earned a Ph.D. from Brown University and has been a faculty member at Fredonia since 2000.
