Like everyone in Western New York and across the United States, faculty and staff at SUNY Fredonia have been affected by cancer. That’s why once again SUNY Fredonia will have a team at the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life event that takes place at the SUNY Fredonia track. This year’s event is on Saturday, June 13th, 2009.
Known as American Cancer Society’s signature activity, Relay for Life allows people from all walks of life to form teams to raise needed funds to fight cancer and increase awareness of cancer prevention and treatment. It also gives the community a chance to come together to celebrate and remember our loved ones.
Shari Miller, director of Purchasing, is co-chairing SUNY Fredonia’s Relay for Life team with Judy Langworthy, university controller. Both are looking to bolster their team roster and gather donations for their theme basket of gifts raffle, one of many promotional items that participating teams sell tickets for to raise money for Relay for Life.

The SUNY Fredonia team is still looking for volunteers, either to sell tickets or to walk. Current 12 people have joined the team and there is plenty of fun to share.

- Complete personal information. Under the Fees section, if you do not want to use your credit card information click fee off line.
- Once registered, you will have a personal webpage to use if you like.
If you do not wish to walk you can help by donating a gift basket, purchasing a luminary, or purchasing chances on gift baskets. All gift baskets will be displayed in the Accounting office by June 5, with raffle tickets being sold in their office until June 12.
