SUNYAC coaches have chosen Fredonia State's Chris Case as their 2009 Coach of the Year in women's soccer.

Case, a 2001 Fredonia graduate, guided the Blue Devils to a second-place finish in 2009 with a 6-2-1 conference record. The team was predicted to finish in eighth place in the coaches' pre-season poll.

The team's six conference wins tied a school record. The Blue Devils generated a record of 11-5-3 overall, their second straight 11-win season and the fourth in Case's eight seasons as head coach.

It was the second time Case has received the award. His previous honor came in 2003, in only his second season at the helm. Case, who coaches women's lacrosse as well at Fredonia, has a career coaching record of 79-58-18 in women's soccer. He is also Fredonia's all-time winningest lacrosse coach with a 46-44 record over six seasons, and was named the 2008 SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Coach of the Year as well.
