Christine L. Padasak, 22, of Springville lost her battle with cystic fibrosis on Sunday, Feb. 27 at Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. As an expression of sorrow, SUNY Fredonia flew its flags at half-staff on Thursday, March 3.
Christine, or "Beaner," as most people knew her, was a sophomore elementary education major at Fredonia and a 2007 graduate of Springville-Griffith Institute.
Her brother Lawrence is a sophomore liberal arts major at SUNY Fredonia.
She was a substitute at the Springville League for the Handicapped and was a dedicated volunteer for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. She was recently the guest of honor at the CFF Breath of Life Gala at Shea’s Buffalo where she was the recipient of the Katie’s Courage Award.
