A new opportunity will be created at SUNY Fredonia for faculty and students to share their ideas on key educational topics at the first Annual College of Education Professional Educational Unit Research Symposium.

The conference, to be held Thursday, March 28, at W101 Thompson, is being conducted by the Teacher Education Club and College of Education. Its goal is to provide opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students to access professional development that explores key topics in the field of education. Professionals and graduates may also highlight their own research and action projects.

“Educate! Engage! Inspire!” themes the event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

For students, the symposium provides an option to participate in professional development outside of the classroom. Both undergraduate and grad students are also invited to present their own research.

Faculty, meanwhile, can share their ideas about important educational topics and engage in interesting dialogue on educational research and action plans. Additionally, faculty can connect with students interested in learning more about faculty scholarships and/or working with faculty on their research. Faculty may also co-present with students.

Submissions for 45-minute presentations and 30-minute poster sessions are invited.
Topics may include any of the following: classroom management techniques; grading; academic integrity; problem-based learning approaches; cooperative and learning collaborations; technology in the classroom; and service learning opportunities. Other matters are also welcomed.
