The Public Relations curriculum at Fredonia is accepting applications for the Fall 2016 Community Partners Program that offers mutual benefits to senior students and nonprofit organizations in Chautauqua County.

The Community Partners Program is a semester-long project of the public relations major capstone course, Public Relations Campaigns. Students conduct research and develop comprehensive public relations plans, including the development of materials, for nonprofit, community-based organizations. The program has assisted 31 nonprofit organizations since it began in 2001.

The deadline for applying for the Fall 2016 program is Tuesday, Aug. 23 at noon.

For the fall semester, at least one organization will be selected to participate based on its public relations situation and need for assistance; preference is given to organizations that do not have access to hired or volunteer public relations staff. Selected organizations will have full use of the research, plan, and campaign materials developed by the students. In return, the organizations are asked to be accessible to students throughout the semester to answer questions and provide information, as well as attend two classes: Thursday, Sept. 1 and either Tuesday, Dec. 1 or Thursday, Dec.8; all classes run from 2 p.m. to 3:20 p.m. Organizations are asked not to apply if representatives are not available on these dates.

For more information and/or an application, please contact Ann Carden, associate professor and program coordinator, at ann.carden@fredonia.edu or 716-785-3487.
