Dr. Chiara De Santi, a lecturer in the Department of World Languages and Cultures, has been invited by the Center for Italian Studies at Stony Brook University to give a lecture on Italian-American filmmaker Martin Scorsese as part of the Richard Nasti Lecture Series on Thursday, April 6.
Several films by the Italian-American director, considered one of the most significant filmmakers in cinematic history, will be explored by Dr. De Santi through the lens of gastronomy and the role of his mother in those films to highlight family and identity values. An article by De Santi on this topic is forthcoming.
