Erin Hellwig, a senior in the Communication Disorders and Sciences Department, won first place in a student research competition at the New York State Speech-Language-Hearing Association's Annual convention in Saratoga Spings recently.
Her research paper was entitled "Laryngeal Surface Electromyographic (sEMG) Measurement of Normal Women and Men during Speech Production".
The scholarship of $1,500 was awarded to Erin at the convention. Erin completed her study in Dr. Bridget Russell's Speech Production Laboratory over a two year period.
Erin looks forward to publishing her work.
