Fredonia Showcase 2010 posterThe best works of student artists at the State University of New York at Fredonia will be on display in the art gallery at Rockefeller Arts Center beginning Friday, Sept. 10.

Entitled the “Fredonia Showcase,” the exhibit will feature the works of Visual Arts and New Media students chosen by individual faculty from their respective classes.

“The Fredonia Showcase, typically an annual event, gives the faculty and students a chance to showcase the exceptional work of the students at SUNY Fredonia,” Art Gallery Administrator Tina Hastings said. “Family, friends and the community are invited to stop in and see what is always a great exhibit.”

A reception will be held in the art gallery lobby, located on the main level of Rockefeller Arts Center, from 7 to 9 p.m. of Friday, Sept. 10. The reception is free and open to the public.

“The Rockefeller Arts Center Art Gallery is excited to open the new gallery season with the ‘Fredonia Showcase’,” Mrs. Hastings said. “The exhibit is a great opportunity for students to have their work exhibited in a professional exhibition space and build their resumes.”

The exhibit runs through Oct. 17. Gallery hours are 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
