Three Fredonia faculty members have been selected to participate in international summer institutes. The China Studies Institute and the Japan Studies Institute, competitive programs administered by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, are designed as professional development programs to integrate international studies into undergraduate curricula.

  Dr. Ivani Vassoler-Froelich 
 

Dr. Ivani Vassoler-Froelich, of the Department of Politics and International Affairs, and Dr. Ann Deakin, of the Department of Geology and Environmental Sciences, will attend the China Studies Institute. The intensive, three-week program is held in multiple cities in China and sponsored by the China Education Association for International Exchange.

Dr. Laura Geraci, of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, will join the Japan Studies Institute in San Diego, Calif., on a similar two-week, intensive institute sponsored by the Nippon Foundation.
