On Tuesday, April 24, Fredonia students and staff, along with students from Dunkirk High School, took to the streets to sell a special edition of The Buffalo News as part of the Buffalo News Kids Day.
They joined volunteers from all across Western New York in raising money that directly supports the John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital and Cradle Beach Camp. This year, over 170 students and staff members volunteered to sell papers from 6 until 9 a.m. to community members on their morning commute. They raised over $2,800 for the two organizations, bringing the grand total for Fredonia’s effort to over $52,000 since 2003.
The Office of Residence Life would like to thank all of our volunteers who dedicated their time and efforts to make this event a success, and an additional thanks to members of our community who supported us by buying a paper or donating. Look for the orange vests around the same time next year!
