Christopher Grundner, founder of the Kelly Heinz-Grundner Brain Tumor Research Foundation, will appear at the Adams Art Gallery in Dunkirk on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 6 p.m.

The SUNY Fredonia Class of 1992 alumnus will talk about the not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising public awareness about brain tumors, helping individuals and families who face the disease and supporting advanced brain tumor research.

Grundner's wife, Kelly Heinz-Grundner, died in September 2004 after a two-year battle with a malignant brain tumor. She was 31 years old.

The Kelly Heinz-Grundner Brain Tumor Research Foundation differs philosophically from other brain tumor awareness organizations. While many of the older, more established groups work exclusively to raise money for a cure, the Kelly Heinz-Grundner Brain Tumor Foundation is equally concerned about teaching the public and helping the sick as it is about research.
