Please add descriptive text for this image. The annual Marx Brothers Film Festival and Symposium also known as Freedonia Marxonia will feature the 1933 classic satire Duck Soup. The festival will include a screening of the film as well as displays that show the connection between Freedonia, the fictional country in which the film takes place, and Fredonia.

Participants can win cash prizes for Marx Brothers look-a-like costumes and the Marx Brothers Art Contest. Attendees will also be able to view other Marx Brothers films and receive a free pair of “Groucho glasses,” the trademark look of the legendary Groucho Marx. There will also be a group photo at 1:30 p.m.

The event takes place Nov. 3, from 1 to 4 p.m. at The Spot/Tim Horton’s, located on the first floor of the Williams Center.

All festival activities, as well as a related internship are supported by the Hahn Family Endowment in the Fredonia College Foundation.

Applications for the internship will be available at the festival. To learn more, contact karen.west@fredonia.edu or visit the Freedonia Marxonia FaceBook page.
