Andrea Romano traveled to Fredonia from Toontown, California, and David Salamone from The Big Apple, to receive their Outstanding Achievement Awards.

The Alumni Association honored three stellar graduates, many athletes, and remembered deceased friends, as Fredonia celebrated its annual Homecoming Weekend Oct. 20, 21, and 22.

Three recipients of the Outstanding Achievement Award were featured at a luncheon for their successful careers in competitive fields. The honorees were Andrea Romano '77 (theatre arts), and David Salamone ’79 (Interdisciplinary Studies – Radio and Television). The third honoree, Rocco Piscatello '90 (graphic design), was unable to attend Homecoming at the last minute.

The Communication Department celebrated its 25th anniversary at Homecoming this year, bringing back alumni for a panel discussion on careers, a dinner and historical video in the library, and a concert with the Tripjacks and other friends.

Sharing their wisdom of hard-earned success with a group of 50 undergraduates during classtime on Friday were communication alumni Richard Ryan, '04 (Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation, Dunkirk, N.Y.), Arthur Germain, '86 (president, Communication Strategy Group, Northport, N.Y.), Jim Ranney, '88 (News Director, WNED AM, Buffalo, N.Y.), and Jeremy Furlani, '96 (Furlani Media, Inc., Amherst, N.Y.).

Andrea Romano was giving the same kind of talk to theatre arts students in Rockefeller Arts Center.
