About History Day Competitions
National History Day Competitions are sponsored by the New York State Historical Association to encourage secondary school students to conduct extensive research on a historical topic and provide them an opportunity to present their results in a public forum.
Students and their teachers are given a theme to work on, and after analyzing and interpreting their sources, the students present conclusions in papers, websites, exhibits, performances, or documentaries.
